Position Summary: As a Medical Assistant, under the supervision of a physician, you'll provide delegated patient care tasks to the patient population. The Medical Assistant will perform clinical responsibilities for the pediatric, adult and geriatric patients and will work closely with the Clinic Provider. Medical Assistants are responsible for rooming patients, obtaining full vital signs, interfacing with other team members, facilitating care of patients, and maintaining excellent electronic medical records in accordance with all policy and procedure guidelines. The Medical Assistant will become proficient with all Medical Assistant duties including preparing the patient for the examination, preparing and administering medications as ordered, Point of Care testing, instrument sterilization, procedure set up, basic wound care, documentation, EKG, assisting the Provider with examinations and facilitating prescription refills, patient referrals/transition of care and scheduling patient procedures.
Required Education/Qualifications: ·
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program and proof of certificate
Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
Basic Computer Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently and with composure in a busy environment
Preferred Education/Qualifications: At least one year experience in a clinic or physician's office
