Echo Vascular Tech II
DEFINITION: The Echo-Cardio Technologist II is responsible for performing a variety of cardiovascular as well as echocardiogram testing and care to patients of any age including: neonatal, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric through patient assessment and treatment, utilization review, clinical education programs, and improving organization performance.
Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular training program, with focus in echocardiography and/or vascular studies required.
AA/AS Degree in a healthcare related field is preferred
Ability to work within a team environment with staff of varying licenses, abilities and responsibilities, including physicians, nurses, technicians, clerical staff, support staff, and students
Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for problem solving and clinical decision making and accepts responsibility for own actions and decisions
Discretion; good verbal and written skills
Basic computer skills
Good visual, color, and auditory acuity
Manual dexterity and small motor muscle coordination essential
Ability to physically maneuver ultrasound equipment within hospital environment
Minimum of 2 years' experience in an echocardiography or vascular lab independently performing 2000 complete studies preferred.
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification is required. Current CPR is required.
