Perform a variety of interpretation and translation services to assist non-English speaking patients. Ideal candidate would be trilingual in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Serve as a neutral party in the transfer of accurate information between staff and the patient and their family. Demonstrate ethical behaviors, maintain an awareness of the cultural environment and establish the appropriate environment for interpretation.
High School diploma or equivalent
A 40-hour medical interpreter training program or certificate required
Fluent in English and target language
Previous experience in a health care setting preferred.
Ability to work with diverse populations from various cultures, economic backgrounds, and age groups
Ability to achieve the following competencies:
Consecutive or simultaneous translation
