The Carson Tahoe Continuing Care Hospital is a long term acute care hospital with 29 licensed beds.
The hospital features an intensive care unit setting as well as a medical/surgical wing. Patients typically stay anywhere from 14-28 days to receive specialized respiratory, wound, and antibiotic therapy. The collaborative care team at the Carson Tahoe Continuing Care Hospital features a physician, RNs, CNAs, physical therapists and restorative aids, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, demonstrates proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, contributes to the nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Develops and participates in the care plan of the patient daily. Population served by this position is adult and elderly age groups.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Valid Nevada RN license. §
Current American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification. §
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association. New grad RNs must successfully completed within 6 months of hire. §
Demonstrates a knowledge base related to the following through previous evaluations and education documentation. §
Demonstrates caring attitude and demeanor towards patients and co-workers. §
Collection and processing of data related to physiological and psychosocial needs of non-critical and critical status patients. §
Identification of nursing diagnosis. §
Development of a comprehensive plan for nursing care. §
Implementation of a plan of nursing care. §
Evaluation of care based on observable patient responses. §
Computer literacy required. §
Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course or examination upon hire
Team Player with excellent communication skills. §
Ability and desire to learn and be an active participant in on-going education and skill development. §
BSN preferred. §
National Board Certifications (i.e., CCRN) preferred. §
- 1-2 years nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
