Position: Medical Assistant
Position Summary: Member of a multidisciplinary team designed to provide patient care under the direct supervision of a physician and office manager.
Position Expectations and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate knowledge of injection sites. Have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Be proficient with STAR, HBOC, and Portal systems
Perform aseptic procedures. Perform office procedures including general administrative duties (ie. phones, scheduling, referrals
Collect patient demographics, data, vital signs, height, weight and basic information about patients' present and previous conditions. Arrange examining room instruments and equipment. Apply simple dressings. Remove sutures or staples from superficial lacerations. Position, drape and shave patients. Collect specimens using non-invasive techniques. Preserve specimens for testing. Perform venipuncture. Perform pulse oximetry
Provide patient information and instructions.
Have the ability to write simple correspondence.
Have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Meet A+ Standards of Excellence
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
One year certificate from college or technical schoolAND
One year related experience and/or training
Basic X-Ray Certification, Preferred
Certified Medical Assistant
BLS certification from American Heart Association
- 80% or higher score on medication test
Selected Candidate Will be Employed by BocaCare, Inc Physician Network, an affiliate of Boca Raton Regional Hospital
