POSITION SUMMARY: An Apprentice Nurse is a student enrolled in an accredited program of nursing. The Apprentice Nurse provides basic nursing care to patients, assists patients with activities of daily living and performs tasks utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process under the direction and supervision of an assigned Registered Nurse for each shift worked. The population served by this position ranges across the life span.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: ·
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing in Nevada taking a minimum of six (6) credits in nursing program courses. Must provide documentation of such at time of hire via official class schedule or official letter from school of nursing. Student must be in their final semester of school to be considered.
Must provide documentation of successful completion of the basic skills curriculum/labs portion of their program, usually acquired during the first year in a nursing program under the college course description of Introduction to Nursing or Fundamentals of Nursing with a letter grade of "C" or better. Documentation will be the official grade report or transcript from the college. ·
Has a current healthcare provider level CPR card. ·
Must be able to communicate in the English language and be proficient in reading and writing.
