Job Summary: The Charge Nurse provides unit-based leadership working collaboratively with the Head Nurse, Director, Physicians, and staff in the development and provision of clinical services. Ensures that all patients on the unit receive cost effective, professional care that results in positive outcomes and high patient satisfaction while maintaining the highest level of patient safety. Is responsible for supervising and responsibly directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. The Charge Nurse Job Description authority and responsibilities also applies to Registered Nurses fulfilling the role of Relief Charge Nurse.
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred, certification in specialty preferred.
Current California RN. Min. 2 years acute care nursing in hospital setting. Current CPR (BLS-C) certification.
