SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care occupational therapy services. Examines patient's medical history, evaluates their physical abilities, determines their potential to respond to therapy, and develops treatment plans. Educates patients and families in appropriate occupational therapy methods. Supervision of Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant's (COTA's) and Rehabilitation Technicians in the delivery of occupational therapy services
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate from a nationally accredited occupational therapy program. Valid Nevada Occupational Therapy License or current interim permit is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience working with adult/geriatric/general population preferred. Ortho and Stroke experience is highly preferred.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with computers
Demonstrates a knowledge base related to the following through annual evaluations and education documentation: ·
Collection and processing of data related to physiological and psychosocial needs of patients. ·
Identification of Occupational Therapy diagnosis. ·
Development of a comprehensive plan of care for occupational therapy treatment. ·
Implementation of a occupational therapy plan of care. ·
Evaluation and modification of care based on observable patient responses.
