Team Leader, Environmental
High School Diploma or GED required
1 or more years related experience is required
The Team Leader supports the philosophy and management of the Environmental Services department; will be responsible for the daily operation in the absence of the supervisor/weekends. Coordinates direct labor as assigned; helps direct work flow as needed, provides training assistance as needed, counsels direct labor when necessary, and maintains equipment and supplies. Routinely performs terminal cleaning functions, using the appropriate sterile or non-sterile techniques.
Position Expectations & Responsibilities:
Expected to be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be aware of responsibilities in the event of fire, disaster or HOBS alert.
Have knowledge of OSHA Classification A. Attend and participate in at least 50% of department staff meetings as well as participate in hospital meetings, forums and seminars.
Ensure cleanliness of assigned areas to include: dusting, wiping, polishing, moping, vacuuming, emptying and removing trash.
Replenish room supplies and stock assigned areas. Complete timely discharge bed cleaning, as evidenced by bed tracking system.
Log in and out of the bed tracker for break times. Change needle box, when needed. Complete logs and forms as necessary.
Expected to aseptic clean
the patients' rooms and bathrooms using prescribed methods. Observe/report any deficiencies of equipment, furniture, or fixtures.
Perform the proper and efficient germicidal cleaning of assigned areas. Assure that all chemicals are properly labeled and are used for intended purposes.
Recognize the influence of beliefs and cultures on behaviors and accept strengths and limitations in others.
Exhibit adaptability, flexibility, self control and maturity in work and behavior. Demonstrate calm responsiveness to emergency or stressful situations.
Assist the Supervisor and Team Leader by assuming limited job responsibilities in their absence at their request. Recognize situations which require notification of a supervisor. Assist with on-the-job training for new employees.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 yrs cleaning & lead worker experience.
Basic computer skills a must.
