Postdoctoral Research Fellow
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with expertise in standard molecular and cellular biology techniques and functional genomics to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of fibrosis in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. The successful candidate will focus on identifying genomic and epigenetic changes that accompany activation of human hepatic stellate cells using state-of-the-art technologies and techniques and processes the following:Strong oral and written communication skills; An ability and desire to work independently and as part of a highly effective and enthusiastic research team;Curiosity and an unwavering desire to enhance scientific knowledge.
The DiStefano Lab
Our major research focus
seeks to identify the genes and molecular pathways that make individuals
susceptible to the development of severe clinical manifestations of complex
diseases, including nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, idiopathic pulmonary
fibrosis, and diabetic nephropathy. The overall goal of our research is to provide
the basis for improved diagnostic capabilities and facilitate the development
of more effective treatment and prevention strategies.National Jewish seeks to attract the best-qualified candidates who support the mission, vision and values of the Institution and those who respect and promote excellence through diversity. We especially welcome applications from candidates from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.
