Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
JOB SUMMARY: Assists the cardiologists in the delivery of patient care services for the Cardiology patient population. The Nurse Practitioner, under the direction of the Practice Manager for Cardiology and the co-Medical Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute, will perform, monitor and, where appropriate, coordinate aspects of care of the cardiac patients within the Heart and Vascular Institute (including the Stress Labs and the Cardiovascular Prep and Recovery Room), in the hospital nursing units and Emergency Departments, and in the Cardiology office, as directed.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education & Training: Must have Master's degree in nursing and maintain licensure as a certified registered nurse practitioner licensure. ACLS and BLS certification required.
Work Orientation & Experience:
Prefer a minimum of one year of acute care and/or cardiology experience, including ability to competently supervise cardiac stress tests. Proficiency in 12 lead EKG interpretation. Critical care and cardiac cath lab experience highly preferred.
