Associate Degree or higher required
Position: Medical Technologist, Per Diem
Position Summary: Analyzes and reports test data accurately in the Clinical laboratory.
Position Expectations and Responsibilities:
Have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Peform routine and corrective maintenance on equipment.
Processes specimens. Performs automated and manual laboratory procedures following documented procedures. Evaluates and verifies results in the LIS. Document and report test data accurately and cognitively.
Complete Quality Control requirements of the section.
Recognize situations which require notification of a supervisor. Communicate with all levels of management and patients in a respectful manner.
Assist in the departmental orientation of new employees.
Assume responsibility for the department/section/shift in the absence of the supervisor.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, or Biological Science
OR Associate's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technology with seven years (post-licensure) in a clinical laboratory setting
Five years (post-licensure) experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred
Florida license as a Medical Technologist in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Serology required, and Micro preferred
Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites. The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions. In the spirit of wellness for both our employees and patients, Boca Raton Regional Hospital has instituted a mandatory influenza prevention vaccination program. Current employees must receive the influenza prevention vaccination free of charge during the recognized flu season.
As a condition of employment, new hires will be required to comply with all program rules.
