The nurse practitioner provides direct medical services to patients in a family practice.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
The scope of practice includes taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, performing minor surgery, prescribing medications and providing patient counseling services and patient education. These services are provided under the direction of supervisory physician(s).

REQUIRED LICENSE, REGISTRY OR CERTIFICATION
Credentialing & malpractice insurance through Medical staff office required. Certification from the National Association of Family Nurse Practitioners is required.. The Nurse Practitioner
must hold a current, valid license from the State of NJ, Division of Consumer Affairs.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Good communication skills. Knowledge of equipment used in ambulatory care of patients of Hunterdon Family & Sports Medicine at Hopewell Valley.
