Position Summary: Administers Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Physician.
Position Expectations and Responsibilities:
Provide timely and appropriate treatments in compliance with department policy and standards of practice.
Complete appropriate and required documentation in compliance with department policy.
Participate in and support departmental program development. Perform duties under the direction of the Program Director and/or the Safety Director. Responsible for safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chambers and related support systems and equipment. Accountable for safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient.
Educate patient in areas pertinent to Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. Keep complete and accurate documentation of HBO treatments and other documents related to HBO therapy and/or equipment. Perform hyperbaric chamber and ancillary equipment operations and system maintenance as required. Perform Transcutaneous Oxygen Measurements as ordered by the physician.
Perform data entry and collection as required by the department.
Expected to coordinate and mentor student interns.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Active Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) or Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN).
BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
Successful completion of training related to Transcutaneous Oxygen Measurements and related competencies. *Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty hours before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites. *The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
