Medical Assistant Float Staff
High school diploma or GED required
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing basic nursing care to clinic patients following established standards and practices. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. THIS POSITION WILL FLOAT TO DIFFERENT AREAS WHEN NEEDED. This position requires completion of a Medical Assistant program.
Must be nationally certified (CMA) or nationally registered (RMA) and this information must be documented on application. +
Medical Assistant certificate (current)
Verified ability to take accurate patient vital signs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate and explain required information to patients
Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes. Evidence of updated
Computer literacy / CRT skills, with the ability to perform data entry functions. +
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Proven self-starter with ability to motivate personnel and promote teamwork. +
Ability to function independently; a self-motivator
Ability access and assimilate a high volume of information rapidly
High school diploma or Graduate Equivalent Degree (GED). Medical Assistant certification in accordance with the attached guidelines. +
At least one - three years of experience in a health care facility or private physician office preferred.
