Rheumatology Faculty Position - Internal Medicine Residency Program
The Baton Rouge General Medical Center, a satellite campus of Tulane University School of Medicine, is seeking candidates for a full-time Rheumatologist to join the faculty of our ACGME-certified Internal Medicine Residency Program. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collegial team in a well-organized, well-supported, graduate medicine department.
The qualified physician will have faculty preceptor and supervision responsibilities in our Internal Medicine Residency Program, will have the opportunity to develop their own curriculum in rheumatologic care of the highest quality, serve as faculty in our Internal Medicine Residency program, and teach internal medicine residents and Tulane School of Medicine students.

DUTIES: Full-time patient care; resident and medical student teaching and supervision; no call.REQUIREMENTS: Eligible candidates must be Board certified or Board eligible, be eligible for medical staff privileges; possess excellent clinical skills; have an interest in clinical teaching; have a desire to work on an interdisciplinary team.PRACTICE INFORMATION: The Hospital Medicine Group (HMG) is one of the largest hospital medicine groups in the state of Louisiana. We started our program in 2001 with two physicians and the mission of providing high quality care to hospitalized patients. Today, we are comprised of 24 physicians and 7 nurse practitioners. We account for 10,000 admissions and in excess of 70,000 patient encounters yearly. Our primary focus is the general medical care of hospitalized patients. We partner with hospital administration and staff (nurses, case managers, social workers and therapists) to develop and optimize patient-centered models of care.
