Physician - Hospital Medicine Group
Seeking full-time Geriatric Medicine physician to join our Hospitalist group. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collegial team of physicians in a well-organized, well-supported, physician-led practice.
The qualified physician will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with our Seniors ER - the first of its kind in the area, and will have the unique opportunity to follow and manage patients through outpatient care, inpatient hospital care, acute care settings of Rehabilitation, SNF & LTAC, and assisted living and nursing home facilities.
The position will also include faculty responsibilities in our Internal Medicine Residency Program, and will have the opportunity to help develop a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program in the near future.

DUTIES: Ambulatory patient care, inpatient service coverage, nursing home and acute care unit coverage, resident supervision, residency teaching and medical student teaching. No call responsibilities.REQUIREMENTS: Eligible candidates must be Board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible/board certified in Geriatrics; be eligible for medical staff privileges; possess excellent clinical skills; have an interest in clinical teaching; have a desire to work on an interdisciplinary team.
PRACTICE INFORMATION: The Hospital Medicine Group (HMG) is one of the largest hospital medicine groups in the state of Louisiana. We started our program in 2001 with two physicians and the mission of providing high quality care to hospitalized patients. Today, we are comprised of 24 physicians and 7 nurse practitioners. We account for 10,000 admissions and in excess of 70,000 patient encounters yearly. Our primary focus is the general medical care of hospitalized patients. We partner with hospital administration and staff (nurses, case managers, social workers and therapists) to develop and optimize patient-centered models of care.
