Notes Manager, Network Administration Basic Purpose: Reporting to the Director of
Technology, the Manager of Network Administration is responsible for providing overall
leadership and direction for Network and Telephony infrastructure and related operational
processes. The Manager of Network Administration will collaborate with IS Leaders, PMO,
SPO, and business stakeholders to identify, prioritize and implement technology solutions
that support Enterprise Architecture, processes, and business goals. Major Duties
and Responsibilities: 1. Overall responsibility for the planning, design,
implementation and support of LAN/WAN (wired/wireless) and Telephony infrastructure
supporting internal and external customers; voice, data video and paging. 2. Interfaces
with key operational groups within IS including Project Management Office (PMO), Security
Program Office (SPO), Service Desk and others as necessary to ensure alignment with IS
processes and IS priorities. 3. Establish and maintain data networks that protect the
integrity of the network from unauthorized users including but not limited to toll-free
lines, calling credit cards and computer hackers. Work closely with vendors and
suppliers to identify potential abuses, actions to be taken, resolution and avoidance of
breaches in network security. 4. Contributes to the specification, implementation and
on-going management of Incident /Change Management processes and Disaster Recovery
Planning 5. Manage the specification and documentation of LAN/WAN and Telephony
infrastructure technology standards in support of the strategic plan. 6. Proactively
manages LAN/WAN and Telephony capacity and performance through proactive monitoring,
management and forecasting. 7. Directly manages, daily, the appropriate data, voice,
network Service Desk requests, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution on all support
requests to the end user community. Explains variances and support issues which are
outstanding. 8. Prepares and maintains a LAN/WAN and Telephony technology "roadmap" on
behalf of the organization. 9. Prepares and delivers periodic status reports and project
updates. 10. Provides leadership in the evaluation/selection of LAN/WAN and Telephony
technology solutions as required. 11. Provides day-to-day leadership of Network and
Telephony staff, coaching/mentoring, career development and discipline as required.
Performs skill and competency assessments to support implemented and planned
infrastructure. Facilitates the resolution of staff related issues as
necessary. 12. Prepares/reviews Network and Telephony staff project and annual reviews as
required. Creates development plans and sets individual goals 13. Interacts with vendor
and business partners as required to ensure business and financial interests are
represented appropriately. 14. Responsible for maintaining Network and Telephony hardware
and software assets including, licensure and support contracts where appropriate.
15. Conducts due diligence and planning necessary to prepare the annual Network and
Telephony capital and operating budgets. 16. Proactively keeps abreast of new technology
trends and investment opportunities so that informed recommendations can be made in
support of business needs. 17. Performs other related duties as
assigned. Qualifications: EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING: 1. A Bachelor's degree
in Computer Science or related discipline . EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 7 years
technical experience with 3 years in a Network and Telephony leadership with role
responsible for a staff of 5+. Experience in Healthcare Information Technology is
strongly preferred. Experience in the planning, design, implementation and management
of wired/wireless network and telephony infrastructure technologies; IP Addressing
Schemes, QoS, DCHP, DNS, routers, switches, firewalls, access points and WAN
Acceleration. Experience utilizing network and telephony management tools; HP SIM,
Cisco Works, CA UniCenter, etc. Experience in the planning, design, implementation and
management of call center and remote (tele-worker) technologies; ACD, IVR, CRM, Workforce
Management. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: 1. Must have excellent project
management skills and be able to manage projects to a timeframe and budget in a dynamic
environment. 2. Must build solid relationship with customers, users, employees and
others. 3. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills including the
ability to grasp and translate technical terminology into understandable terms for
others. Experiences with the following technologies highly desirable: - Cisco
Wired/Wireless Technologies - Cisco Unified Communications - Rolm PBX - Voice Mail
Systems; Unity, Cisco - Integration; Unified Communications - Lotus Notes, Microsoft
Exchange - Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE - BICSI Registered Communications Distribution
Designer - Project Management Institute PMP - Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing
